Notice on Rotating CEO Tenure

Mr. Guo Ping will be the Acting CEO of Huawei from April 1st, 2014 to September 30th, 2014, according to Huawei Rotating CEO system. The rotating CEO acts as the primary person of the company’s operations and crisis management during his tenure and is responsible for convening and chairing the meetings of Board of Directors’ Executive Committee and the company’s Executive Management Team.

Guo Ping is Rotating CEO, Deputy Chairman of Huawei’s Board of Directors, and serves as Chairman of Huawei’s finance committee. Since 2003, Mr. Guo has also served as head of corporate development, overseeing the company’s corporate development strategy as well as M&A and other investment activities. He has led dozens of Huawei’s M&A and investment transactions internationally, helping Huawei to establish successful joint ventures, including H3C, through a joint venture with 3Com; TD Tech, through a joint venture with Siemens; Huawei Symantec and Huawei Marine.

Mr. Guo served as President and Chairman of Huawei Device from 2004 to 2011 – now one of Huawei’s most important business divisions – helping the company to develop into a world-leading network devices provider.

Mr. Guo has also held several other senior-level positions, including head of Huawei’s supply chain, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Legal Officer. Mr. Guo joined Huawei in 1988 in the R&D department and was one of the company’s earliest employees. As a project manager and then deputy chief engineer of the R&D department, Mr. Guo led research and development efforts for Huawei’s first generation of technology products.

Mr. Guo obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in computer science from HuaZhong University of Science and Technology in China.
