New Executive Take the Reins for TelePacific in Texas

TelePacific Communications, the leading business communications carrier that’s been on a sustained investment and expansion spurt in the Texas market, has brought in top sales executive Brad Mitchell to pilot the company through its next stage of growth. Mitchell, the new President of TelePacific Texas, brings a unique combination of insider knowledge and wide-ranging industry experience gained in both the venture capital and established industry leader arenas to his new role. He replaces Philip Ross, who oversaw the addition of Texas operations to TelePacific’s original California and Nevada footprint.

This is a homecoming for Mitchell, who was instrumental in creating TelePacific’s customer-centric structure during TelePacific’s early years after nearly a decade of senior leadership positions in Texas and the Gulf Coast for Sprint PCS and Mobilecomm. More recently, he served as EVP of Cable & Wireless’ International Accounts and owned and built a highly successful retail franchise operation.

“I’ve spent my entire career building sales and revenue for companies that found rewards in the furiously evolving B2B and B2C worlds,” Mitchell says, “and the focus on customers and local business economies that makes that possible has always gripped me. TelePacific understands that dynamic better than any other company I’ve worked for and I love the way it is baked into the corporate DNA here. Coupled with the chance to return to Texas, where I first really launched my career, this was an irresistible opportunity.”

During the past two years, TelePacific has opened new offices in Fort Worth, Dallas, Corpus Christi, San Antonio and Houston in addition to its headquarters in Austin. Recently, it announced the addition of 129,000 Texas locations served by Alpheus’ Ethernet-over Copper network to its local footprint, adding a powerful new access alternative to a huge range of small and medium-sized business customers who want to take advantage of TelePacific’s broad and powerful portfolio of connectivity, cloud and continuity solutions.

“We’re delighted to bring Brad back to TelePacific,” says CEO Dick Jalkut. “As TelePacific moves into a new and expanded role in the Texas business communications world, he’s the right person to make sure we keep our eyes firmly on the horizon and fixed on customer needs. We’re looking to him to realize the strengths and excitement that Texas business embodies and help us bring those benefits to our customers in California and Nevada.”

An avid pilot with an instrument rating that lets him fly through weather where clean sight lines aren’t available, Mitchell is looking forward to the challenge of a changing industry and business communications environment.

“As a pilot, you need to be fanatical about checklists and paying attention to the details,” he observes. “For TelePacific, that means constantly checking our heading to make sure we stay on the course our customers need. That commitment to customers is TelePacific’s lodestone.”
