MRV Strengthens Corporate Leadership to Boost High-Growth Global Initiatives

Sales veteran Scott St. John brings exceptional experience and service provider customer insight to MRV as the company empowers customers with intelligent packet and optical solutions

CHATSWORTH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Mar. 24, 2014– MRV Communications™, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRVC) (“MRV®”), a leading provider of innovative packet and optical solutions, today announced it has named Scott St. John as its new senior vice president of sales for the company’s Optical Communications Systems (OCS) division. St. John is an experienced sales leader with expertise in developing go-to-market strategies and building sales teams to drive growth. In his new role at MRV, he will be responsible for the company’s sales operations and service organization. St. John’s strong professional background will support MRV’s commitment to strengthening customer relationships as it provides market-leading packet, optical and service delivery solutions for critical new network applications such as cloud computing, high-capacity business services, mobile backhaul, data center connectivity, software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization.

St. John has spent over 20 years in the network technology industry. He has a proven track record of achieving sustainable growth in sales, as well as meeting customer service, marketing and overall corporate leadership goals. Prior to his role at MRV, St. John served Overture Networks as senior vice president of global sales and service. At Overture, he led the company’s global go-to-market and customer-facing operations, and achieved consistent global sales growth. St. John also held sales leadership positions at Saisei, Larscom and VINA Technologies, as well as sales and marketing roles at Lucent Technologies and AT&T.
