Dematic Deploys Level 3 VPN for Global Network Availability

Tailored Solution Provides Robust, Fully-Meshed Network to Support Global Users of Business-Critical Applications While Managing Costs

BROOMFIELD, Colo. and FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany, March 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced it has signed an agreement to deliver its Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution to Dematic, a global supplier of logistics automation solutions and services.

Due to resource-hungry applications such as AutoCAD, Dematic’s existing network had reached its limits, spurring the company to extend the level of virtualization of its enterprise applications and make them available to users throughout its global operations. To accomplish this, Dematic deployed Level 3’s VPN solution at 15 of its sites around the world, including Europe, the United States and Latin America. Following a rigorous evaluation of multiple providers, Dematic selected Level 3 for its reliability and cost-effectiveness along with the competence and commitment of its staff.
