Maresa Holding Corporation Selects Level 3 to Enhance Communications Between Operating Companies

Group Uses a Range of Level 3’s Data and Internet Services to Integrate Operating Company Processes and Improve Organizational Efficiency

Oct 24, 2013

QUITO, ECUADOR, Oct. 24, 2013 – Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced it is providing a range of telecommunications services to Maresa Holding Corporation, an Ecuadorian conglomerate made up of several automotive companies, including automotive assembly, distribution, marketing and leasing of vehicles.

The consistent and rapid growth of the automotive market in Ecuador in recent years has attracted more companies to enter the country and address growing consumer demand. These increases in demand throughout the country have created new operational challenges for Maresa. With more than 27 facilities nationwide, the organization required a network provider and communications services that would enable it to integrate its operations, simplify communications and enhance collaboration between its operating companies.

“By working with Level 3, we have been able to migrate all of our services to MPLS technology, obtain assured quality of service, optimize our resources, and leverage the extensive support of a highly skilled professional team,” said Gloria Sandoval, IT manager for Maresa Holding Corporation.

As a part of this agreement, Level 3 implemented network connectivity for all of Maresa Group’s operating company facilities in Ecuador. In addition to data and Internet services, the organization uses Level 3’s hosting services to manage its critical data, receiving 24/7 monitoring and security.

“Maresa operates in a highly competitive and dynamic industry, and it was important for Level 3 to fully understand this market climate and their business requirements to implement a network solution that would address their unique communications challenges,” said Francisco Guzman, director of Sales for Level 3 in Ecuador. “Level 3 is pleased to provide Maresa with the network services that enhance its core operations, positioning the company to compete more effectively and grow in this active market.”
