Zayo Group Introduces 100G Wavelength Services in European Markets

Expansion Enables High Bandwidth links between London and Amsterdam

BOULDER, Colo.–()–Zayo Group, an international provider of Bandwidth Infrastructure services, today announced expansion of its 100G wavelength services between London and Amsterdam, providing connectivity to important traffic aggregation points and IP nodes in key European markets. The 100G wavelength platform is already operational in locations in the U.S. and will continue to be deployed in Europe during the rest of 2013 and into the first half of 2014.

Like the recent expansions along Zayo’s major U.S. routes, the 100G expansion in Europe will accommodate bandwidth demand driven by cloud computing, media and content companies, “big data” processing and key financial customers in the region. Additionally, because 100G transport requires fewer connections than multiple 10G circuits, Zayo’s service allows customers to more efficiently manage their network infrastructure.

”This route is deployed and ready for immediate customer implementation” said Alastair Kane, vice president of Zayo Europe. “The European 100G deployment includes the latest optical technology which provides the fastest commercially available IP services to internet and content companies.”

Zayo began implementation of 100G wavelength services across its U.S. network in late 2012, and plans additional expansion to key locations in Europe through 2014. In recent months, the technology has been rolled out along the eastern corridor including New York City, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. and the western corridor between Seattle and Los Angeles.
