XO Communications Earns Spot on the 2013 InformationWeek 500 List of Top Technology Innovators Across the U.S.

Herndon, VA – September 26, 2013 – XO Communications today announced that it made this year’s InformationWeek 500 – a list of the top technology innovators in the U.S.  The company was recognized for business process technology improvements that improved contract processing and decreased customer wait times for service implementation.

“By simplifying processes and improving system integration, we were able to speed up the time in which we deliver services and solutions for our customers, from initial order through to installation. XO Communications implemented a single screen for managing leads and prospects, generating price quotes and printing executable contracts for manual or electronic signature. The new platform is tightly integrated to our services catalog, pricing engine and order entry system, which in turn feeds into our service implementation system,” said Steve Taff, chief information officer at XO Communications.

“The theme of this year’s InformationWeek 500 is digital business. It’s a movement, rooted in data analytics, mobile computing, social networking and other customer‐focused technologies that are turning companies and industries on their ear,” said InformationWeek Editor In Chief Rob Preston. “Every enterprise is now a digital business – or needs to become one fast. The organizations in our ranking are leading the way.”

XO Communications customized salesforce automation software, integrating it with the XO back-end pricing and order entry systems in order to simplify pricing and contract generation and to provide easy flow-through to order entry and sales fulfillment.  The resulting solution streamlined the online salesforce automation process into a single screen for managing leads and prospects, generating price quotes and ultimately printing executable contracts for manual or electronic signature, saving XO account executives time that can be redirected to customer-facing and revenue-generating activities.

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation’s most innovative users of information technology with its annual InformationWeek 500 listing, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments, and administrative practices of some of the best‐known organizations in the country. Unique among corporate rankings, the InformationWeek 500 spotlights the power of innovation in information technology.
