KDDI, the Parent Company of TELEHOUSE Expands Global Access for U.S. Customers Through South East-Asia Japan Cable

New York, NY, USA – July 11, 2013 – KDDI, the parent company of TELEHOUSE , the United States’ leading provider of dedicated data centers, international Internet exchanges, and managed IT services, announces it has begun operation on the optical submarine cable, South East-Asia Japan Cable (SJC) in order to meet the large capacity communication needs of the Internet age. Japan is at the hub connecting the shortest route between Singapore and other Southeast Asian data centers to the United States’ west coast. This initiative will provide greater global connectivity for U.S. based customers.

SJC connects Japan to Singapore and branches out to all regions of Southeast Asia including mainland China, Hong Kong, Brunei, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand for a total length of 5,530 miles and 28Tbps of large volume broadband communications are made possible with optical submarine cables.

“The South East-Asia Japan Cable allows U.S, customers to leverage the capacity to meet increased demand, for ultra-high speed Internet including High Definition video or increasing demand on the Intranet,” says Fred Cannone, Director of Sales and Marketing at Telehouse. “New and existing U.S. based Telehouse customers will have a broadband communications edge when tapping into the Southeast Asian marketplace.”

Telehouse continues to provide communication services with increased reliability to its customers. This strategic expansion will provide the shortest route between seven Asian countries and the U.S., and will serve to better connect U.S. customers to the Asian and Pacific Ocean regions where communication needs are on the rise.
