California and Nevada AT&T U-verse Customers Connect Faster with New 45 Mbps Internet Service

Speed Upgrade Marks Progress on AT&T’s Project VIP Investment

DallasTexasJuly 29, 2013

AT&T* U-verse® customers can now surf with faster speeds, at a price they can afford. As part of its Project Velocity IP (VIP) investment plan, AT&T today announced the availability of U-verse High Speed Internet Power, which brings customers speeds of up to 45 Mbps downstream and up to 6 Mbps upstream.

Available today for AT&T U-verse residential and small business customers in California and Nevada, U-verse High Speed Internet Power is the fastest Internet package available from AT&T. U-verse High Speed Internet Power is scheduled to launch in additional markets on an ongoing basis.

The speed upgrade is a part of AT&T’s Project VIP investment, announced in November 2012, which includes a plan to expand and enhance AT&T’s wireline IP network to approximately 57 million customer locations in its wireline service area by year-end 2015. At the end of the second quarter of 2013, AT&T had expanded its wireline IP network build by a total of 1.8 million U-verse broadband customer locations, including 500,000 U-verse video customer locations. AT&T is currently on track to reach its goal of approximately 57 million customer locations by the end of 2015. Also, as part of Project VIP, AT&T plans to upgrade top tier U-verse speeds to up to 100 Mbps in the future.

“This is our next step in our Project VIP investment plan, and we’re proud to bring customers faster speeds, for a great value,” said Mel Coker, Chief Marketing Officer, AT&T Home Solutions. “The vast majority of our customers bundle U-verse Internet and TV because it gives them a better experience, with faster speeds that fit their needs, at an affordable price. We look forward to bringing wired IP services and faster speeds to more customers in the future.”

AT&T U-verse Power is available to eligible residential customers at introductory rates as low as $49.95*** per month for up to 24 months bundled with qualifying TV and voice services. Current, eligible U-verse Internet residential customers can upgrade their package and receive $10 off their bill for 12 months. Customers can get more information at att.com/uverse.

In addition, small businesses can purchase Business U-verse TV packages, which include promotional pricing available through August 2013.
