Level 3 Provides CDN Services to Online Fashion Retailer Dafiti

SAO PAULO, June 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced the expansion of its contract with online retailer Dafiti, one of the largest e-commerce fashion companies in Brazil, for the provision of Content Delivery Network (CDN) services. Dafiti has relied on Level 3’s Premier Elite data center services for hosting, Internet access and data redundancy.

Dafiti’s internal analytics estimate that its online retail business has 50 million visits and 25 million unique visitors per month. With the new CDN services, the company is looking to Level 3 to help provide these customers with improved performance and a better shopping experience.

“We will enhance the experience of our customers with Level 3’s CDN services, which are increasingly needed to support and ensure the high availability of our online store,” said Rodrigo Rodrigues, CIO at Dafiti. “The performance of the website has already been tested and we’ve noticed an improvement in response time for users.”

For e-commerce websites like Dafiti’s, the solution features improvements that can reduce waiting time, thereby reducing the dropout rate. This means potentially more sales per hour.

“When customers visit an industry leader’s website, they want and expect fast response time, and we are pleased to help Dafiti deliver this,” said Marcos Malfatti, senior vice president of Sales for Level 3 Brazil. “When customers visit Dafiti, static content, such as images and layout, are loaded rapidly from the CDN server. The dynamic, interactive parts of the web page come from one of Level 3’s three Premier Elite data centers in Brazil, putting the content and the user closer together.”
