NaviSite Achieves SSAE 16 Compliance in the UK and Announces Successful Audit Period

NaviSite, Inc., a premier provider of enterprise-class hosting, managed application, managed messaging and managed cloud services, today announced that the cloud-enabled data center in Woking, Great Britain, and the facility in London achieved SSAE-16 compliance. The newly added UK facilities, coupled with six additional data centers, were included in the organization’s most recent successful SSAE-16 audit period Oct. 1, 2011 – Sept. 30, 2012 that included no qualifications required and no exceptions. The audit provides industry confirmation that NaviSite’s enterprise-class hosting and cloud compute services follow standards, procedures and policies that ensure protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer data.

Last year NaviSite completed SSAE 16 compliance for its cloud-enabled data centers in Andover, Mass. and San Jose, Calif. As a SSAE 16 -compliant company, NaviSite continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing customers with the highest standards in processes, controls and procedures. The addition of the two UK SSAE-16 certifications fulfills the growth and needs of our customers enabling them to host more robust and sophisticated architectures with increased confidence.

“The SSAE 16 program is an important part of NaviSite’s business and underscores the quality of services we deliver to our customers, including our industry-leading cloud services,” said Michael Poole, senior vice president, service and delivery at NaviSite. “With the findings published in the audit report and the inclusion of our cloud data center in Woking and our data center in London, our customers can be sure we are committed to the highest standards for ensuring security in their environment.”

SSAE 16 SOC 1 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). An SSAE 16 audit is widely recognized because of representation and attestation from a third party that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of its control activities. NaviSite’s controls were created using ITIL best practices in information assurance and security. The systems and processes evaluated in this audit include security monitoring, change management, problem management, backup controls, physical and environmental safeguards, and logical access.
