Huawei Officially Launches the Dandelion Empowerment Program to Boost Channel Partner Capabilities Worldwide

[Shenzhen, China, February 18, 2013]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today officially launched the Dandelion Empowerment Program, an initiative to enhance the capabilities of channel partners worldwide and equip them with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the latest ICT technologies. With this program, Huawei aims to develop a deeper understanding of the ICT knowledge and expertise across its channel partner ecosystem and provide customized training and development that will provide them with better and more efficient ways to enhance capabilities and grow their business.

Last year, Huawei Enterprise established a global channel partner ecosystem to broaden its roster of partners while maximizing value for all stakeholders. Thus far, Huawei has recruited more than 300 tier 1 partners such as distributors and value added partners (VAPs), as well as 2,500 tier 2 resellers worldwide. The various types of channel partners have diverse capabilities, capacities and expertise which require customized and adaptive training.

The Dandelion Empowerment Program seeks to understand the varied learning requirements and customized training necessary for each individual channel partner. Through face-to-face engagements, the program helps to analyze the gaps between current and required capabilities and develop a customized training program to suit the needs of each partner. This program will strengthen the training capacity and capability around the world in order to continuously aid channel partners in remaining educated on the latest ICT technologies, thereby enhancing their rate of growth.

The Dandelion Empowerment Program includes specialized certification training such as Huawei Certified Network Associate (HCNA) and Huawei Certified Network Professional (HCNP). The program also includes training in specialized technical fields as well as various types of product training, including enterprise networking, unified communications and collaboration (UC&C), and cloud computing & data center. Catering to the specific training needs of each market, Huawei’s Regional Headquarters select the type of training based on local conditions and send enrollment requirements to Huawei’s global headquarters. Huawei Global Headquarters will then dispatch senior training managers to deliver the required training locally.

As part of the pilot project, the first two training sessions of the Dandelion Empowerment Program were successfully held in Indonesia in late January 2013. Held at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) and Huawei’s Indonesia Representative Office, the sessions attracted participation from 29 trainees, including instructors of UMN, instructors from HALPs, and engineers from channel partners. Through the training, trainees not only acquired knowledge, but also improved mutual communication with one another. In addition to UMN, other Huawei partners in Indonesia also participated in the pilot project, including Certified Service Partners Virtus Technology Indonesia (VTI), Synnex Metrodata Indonesia (SMI), as well as Transdata Global Network (TGN), which is also a Huawei Authorized Service Partner.

Channel partners, Huawei Authorized Learning Partners (HALPs), and companies that are interested in collaborating with Huawei are welcome to participate in the program. For detailed information about the training, please contact the local training manager or email the Huawei certification mailbox: learning@huawei.com.
