ADTRAN and Glandorf Telephone Deliver Ultra Broadband Speeds to Rural Northwest Ohio

ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000 platform enables increased bandwidth for next–generation data and video services for residential customers

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Feb. 13, 2013– ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN, news, filings), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, announced today that Glandorf Telephone Company will be using ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000 broadband platform to enable high-speed broadband and video service to households in Northwest Ohio. Glandorf is utilizing the flexibility of the Total Access 5000 to deliver both Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Ultra Broadband services to both residential and business customers. Glandorf is reaching the unreachable with premium services by capitalizing on their extensive existing copper network to double the bandwidth service speed over bonded copper for rural residents who cannot be serviced by the fiber network. In addition, Glandorf is positioned to offer business class services from the same platform, increasing both revenue opportunities and customer base.

ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000 helps service providers like Glandorf Telephone Company reinvent their access networks by delivering broadband over both copper and fiber architectures. This enables service providers with the capacity and scalability needed to meet the growing demand for super-premium internet and HD video services while providing a seamless migration path for existing legacy services. ADTRAN’s broadband platform provides virtually unlimited network bandwidth with an ultra-low cost of ownership, allowing Glandorf to expand its addressable market and reach residents who may not have had easy access to these types of services previously.

“Our previous solution limited our ability to offer our customers the services they were looking for. We knew we needed to find a solution that would increase speed and serve more subscribers,” said Jason Kleman, IT manager with Glandorf Telephone Company. “Since implementing ADTRAN’s broadband platform, we are able to provide more reliable and efficient service to our customers, increasing customer satisfaction.”

“Our goal at ADTRAN is to help service providers deploy a solution that allows them to launch and stay ahead by offering the latest next-generation services, creating opportunities to increase market share and revenue,” said Mitch Fleming, regional vice president, sales, ADTRAN Carrier Networks Division. “ADTRAN’s products provide the flexibility and simplicity that service providers, like Glandorf Telephone, need to not only grow their network bandwidth over time, but also diversify their service offering to meet both residential and business customers’ demand.”
