Zayo Group Partners with EvoSwitch to Offer Customers Transatlantic Connectivity

AMSTERDAM, January 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ —

Dark and lit fibre connectivity in EvoSwitch Amsterdam and Virginia data centres will offer customers enhanced network capabilities

Zayo Group announces its partnership with EvoSwitch, a leading provider of sustainable and innovative carrier-neutral data center services, to deliver connectivity to its customers across combined US and European networks and locations. The agreement, unveiled on the opening day of this month’s Pacific Telecoms Council conference, will lower barriers to entry into new markets for customers, by providing easy access to US and European networks.

Through this partnership, Zayo is focused on delivering Bandwidth Infrastructure solutions to EvoSwitch to support its backbone networks and allow customers to extend to other key locations across Zayo’s network.  Zayo will provide dark and lit fiber services into EvoSwitch data centers providing a secure and scalable solution.

Once complete, EvoSwitch customers, carriers and ISPs of the Amsterdam, Netherlands and Virginia, US data center facilities will benefit from more choice in their network. With this expanded connectivity customers will have the option of a single Bandwidth Infrastructure provider to connect their key locations in both Europe and the Americas.

In 2012, EvoSwitch made several landmark announcements, including further expansion of its AMS1 facility in the Netherlands with the opening of modular data hall 6, and entry into the US market in Q4 2012 with the opening of its WDC1 facility, in Virginia.

Stephanie Copeland , Senior Vice President for Zayo Group comments: “Zayo is focused on connecting high bandwidth locations, like EvoSwitch across our network footprint. We have deepened our partnership with EvoSwitch by providing our infrastructure to offer their customers in both the US and Europe an easy, reliable solution for advanced network infrastructure needs.”

Eric Boonstra , Managing Director of EvoSwitch, said of the announcement: “As a carrier-neutral datacenter provider many of our customers are high-bandwidth users. The partnership with Zayo supports our entry into the US market, and with it the opportunity for our customers to simply enter new markets.”

Zayo and EvoSwitch are already in discussions with customers and carriers interested in using the service.
