ViaWest Strengthens its Compliance Portfolio

Denver, CO – January 8, 2013 – ViaWest, one of the largest privately held data center, cloud computing and managed service providers in North America, announces it has enhanced its library of compliance and attestation reports.   ViaWest has a long history of providing Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16)( formerly SAS 70), reports. The company has expanded its reporting portfolio to include a Service Organization Controls (SOC) SOC 2, Type II report on the Security and Availability Trust Services Principles in addition to its SOC 1, Type II report in accordance with SSAE 16 and ISAE 3402 and its SOC 3 report on the Security and Availability Trust Services Principles. Additionally, in response to customer requirements, it has doubled the number of facilities covered by the Payment Card Industry Report on Compliance for Sections 9 and 12 (PCI ROC). Furthermore, ViaWest has now added a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) report for physical controls covering four of its datacenters.

Attestation and compliance reports are issued by independent third-party auditors, which assess ViaWest’s controls and procedures. Assessments were performed by CoalFire Systems, a qualified security assessor, and a “Big 4” accounting firm.
