TMG Health Depends on Level 3’s Secure, Redundant Network to More Reliably and Efficiently Serve Government Healthcare Programs

New Network Connectivity Supports Customer Expansion of Operations

BROOMFIELD, Colo., Jan. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Level 3 Communications, Inc. (LVLT) today announced that TMG Health, a leading national provider of expert solutions for government-sponsored health plans, is depending on Level 3’s secure, redundant network solutions to better serve the needs of its clients and to improve the communications across its offices and data centers. In particular, Level 3 extended its network to the customer’s new National Operations Center in Jessup, Pa., to support a recent business expansion.

Level 3’s network provides TMG Health with a reliable, secure, high-bandwidth solution that connects customer data centers that house sensitive client information with the customer’s other locations in Pennsylvania, Illinois and Texas. The network also supports TMG Health’s call center operations.

“Level 3’s network solution makes us an attractive provider for our clients, and enables us to prove to existing and prospective clients that they can entrust us with their sensitive healthcare information,” said Chris Haran, chief information officer of TMG Health. “In addition, the fact that Level 3 owns and operates the entire network supporting our headquarters in Jessup — and protects it with a multi-layered security portfolio — allows us to reassure our customers that their sensitive data is secure. We couldn’t have expanded our operations center there without Level 3’s support.”

Level 3® Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) /IP VPN service is designed to deliver a secure, private, fully interconnected service over a dedicated MPLS network. The MPLS/IP VPN service is a cost-effective alternative to legacy technologies, providing high levels of privacy, security, reliability and performance, while leveraging the scalability of a global infrastructure.

“We are pleased that our network solutions are helping TMG Health better serve the needs of its clients and expand its core business,” said Andrew Crouch, Level 3 regional president of North America. “We understand the need to secure sensitive healthcare data and believe that our offerings are ideally suited to the unique requirements of the healthcare segment.”
