Integra Telecom Expands Carrier Ethernet Portfolio with E-LAN Services

Layer 2 Services Provide High-Bandwidth Metro Area Networking for Enterprise Communications

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 18, 2012 – Integra Telecom, Inc., a leading provider of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, announces the launch of E-LAN Carrier Ethernet services to provide multipoint-to-multipoint Layer 2 Virtual Private Networks (VPN) for multi-location customers. Further expanding the company’s Carrier Ethernet portfolio, Integra’s E-LAN services allow customers to scale their corporate or campus networks across multiple locations easily, with full control over Quality of Service (QoS).

“Integra’s E-LAN services offer medium-sized and enterprise customers a true extension of their corporate LAN across a wide area or metro network,” said Joe Harding, senior vice president of marketing at Integra. “Businesses looking to bring together all of their locations via a secure, reliable network will find that our E-LAN services offer exceptional performance with the flexibility to adapt to their private networking requirements and meet their budget.”

Certified by the Metro Ethernet Forum to ensure end-to-end-interoperability, Integra’s E-LAN services extend the company’s Carrier Ethernet offerings, which include E-Line services for point-to-point connections across a Wide Area Network (WAN). Leveraging the company’s vast and growing fiber and Ethernet over Copper (EoC) network infrastructure, E-LAN provides customers a complete Layer 2 Mesh connectivity for multiple locations at bandwidths of up to 10 gigabits-per-second. The new offering also provides a transparent network for Layer 3 routing and allows customers to retain control of any Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) partitioning with the security of a private network.

Integra’s E-LAN services are ideal for a range of industries – including healthcare, financial services, retail, education and government – and enable networking data-intensive application services, critical IT functions and proprietary software platforms across multi-locations. With full performance monitoring capabilities, customers can measure bandwidth usage and other key indicators in real time, allowing comprehensive management of QoS and network traffic so that business-critical applications such as voice, streaming video, file sharing or disaster recovery services can be prioritized to the needs of the business or location. Further, Integra’s robust performance monitoring tools allow Ethernet customers to monitor, optimize and view graphical representations of their Ethernet network via a web-based portal, providing a user experience similar to a network operations center.

Integra’s E-LAN services are available through direct, indirect and wholesale channels and are delivered within Integra’s western US footprint over the company’s fiber or copper networks.
