Level 3 Debuts New Microsite and Solutions Portfolio for Gaming Industry

LEVEL 3 PROVIDES ONE-STOP-SHOP FOR GAME DEVELOPERS AND NETWORKS

BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Nov. 9, 2012 – Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE: LVLT) today announced the debut of its new gaming microsite to complement the introduction of its robust gaming solutions portfolio for game developers and networks.

The site, www.level3gaming.com, showcases Level 3’s suite of IP, CDN and security solutions specifically created and designed to serve gaming companies across the globe. These solutions work together to provide the scale and speed that gaming companies need to gain infrastructure efficiencies and lower costs – resulting in improved game delivery, game play and tournament play.

“Level 3’s new gaming site provides a visual snapshot of our extensive lineup of products and services, created solely for the gaming industry. Because we can take content from its origin to the location where it’s consumed, we are able to offer a one-stop-shop for our gaming customers,” said Mark Taylor, vice president of Media and IP Services. “Level 3’s highly reliable and responsive IP and content delivery networks allow customers to manage massive scale with remarkable speed, improving the overall gaming experience, which ultimately results in more downloads and higher revenue.”

The new microsite employs parallax scrolling, where multiple layers of images move at different speeds when scrolled over, creating the illusion of depth, or 3D effect. This type of scrolling mimics that used in popular video games.

The Level 3 network is trusted by many leading entertainment and media companies to deliver content to audiences worldwide. The company’s services for the gaming industry are engineered to seamlessly deliver high-quality online content to end-users, enabling game publishers, online game retailers, cloud gaming companies and game developers to spend more time designing and developing the best games possible and less time thinking about how to best deliver them online.
