New York, NY (October 10, 2012)Telx®, a leading provider of global interconnectivity, cloud enablement services and data center solutions, today announced that Cross River Fiber , a New Jersey-based CLEC and boutique, dark fiber optic and telecommunications solutions provider, is constructing ultra low-latency fiber into Telx’s facilities in Clifton (NJR2 at 100 Delawanna Ave and NJR3 data center at 2 Peekay). The new Cross River Fiber routes pass directly through Clifton on their way to financial exchanges in Secaucus and Weehawken. The new routes in development by Cross River Fiber are purpose built to significantly reduce latency to NYSE’s Mahwah facility from current fiber optic routes. In addition, the distance between Telx’s Clifton facilities and Mahwah will offer the most direct path, delivering a latency competitive route as compared to other paths such as the Mahwah to Secaucus route.

Cross River Fiber designs, constructs and manages independent fiber optic routes throughout the state of New Jersey. Today’s announcement follows Cross River Fiber’s previous announcement earlier this year regarding the deployment of the ‘shortest routes’ between all New Jersey based data centers. This new fiber route will provide customers at these campus facilities with low latency connectivity to financial exchanges.

“This has the potential of being a game-changer for financial institutions, market data vendors, and trading systems that want to establish a latency sensitive data center footprint for the US Equities markets,” explains Alex Tabb a partner at TABB Group, a leading research and advisory firm for the financial markets. “With the Equity markets under considerable pressure, market participants need to continue to look for new technologies and strategic placement of assets that can reduce latency but at the same time keep operational costs under control.”

“Expanding our network footprint in New Jersey at Telx’s impressive new facility will strengthen our service offerings to the financial community,” said Vincenzo Clemente, CEO of Cross River Fiber. “Our construction capabilities and secure network design are at the forefront of the industry and we are proud to partner with Telx to offer existing and new customers across a variety of industries the highest quality network solutions available.”

Telx operates a significant campus environment at 100 Delawanna and is constructing a market leading three-story data center (NJR3) which will provide 215,000 gross square feet of high power density, energy efficient space yielding more than 100,000 square feet of customizable colocation space to meet the growing requirements of global customers for heavily networked solutions. Like all of Telx’s C3 Cloud Connection Centers , the NJR3 facility is a managed, carrier-neutral, secure networking environment for carriers, ISP’s, content providers, financial service companies, bio-pharma and enterprise businesses. In addition, the facility follows green, energy-efficient standards in accordance with LEED requirements, is a full 2N design, and is the only data center in the area powered by two independent electrical sub-stations.

“The New Jersey market continues to be a prime source of investment and expansion for Telx. Working with one of New Jersey’s leading fiber optic solution providers strengthens our ability to offer global connectivity services to our customers both in New Jersey and around the globe,” said Eric Shepcaro, CEO, Telx. “With construction firmly under way, we are excited for the opening of our NJR3 facility, and with the support of Cross River Fiber, Telx will be able to offer reduced latency that benefits our new and existing customers in the tri-state area.”
