Segovia, Inc. d/b/a Inmarsat Government Named Prime Contractor Under U.S. Government’s $2.6 Billion Custom SATCOM Solutions Program

Award reinforces Inmarsat Government’s focus on providing advanced, secure end-to-end solutions to U.S. government users

Herndon, VA, September 5, 2012 – Segovia, Inc. d/b/a Inmarsat Government, a wholly owned subsidiary of Inmarsat plc, today announced it has been selected as a prime contractor under the Custom SATCOM Solutions (CS2) contract, a U.S. Government program to acquire up to $2.6 billion in satellite telecom solutions and end-to-end managed network services over the next five years.

The CS2 program is the final segment of the Future COMSATCOM Services Acquisition (FCSA) initiative managed jointly by the General Services Administration and the Defense Information Systems Agency. Inmarsat Government is also a prime provider under the FCSA Schedule 70 program that supports federal, state and local governments with direct access to the highest quality commercial telecommunications hardware, software and services.

“The FCSA CS2 award reinforces Inmarsat Government’s strong relationship with U.S. Government SATCOM users. It is a testament to the type of global, highly secure, integrated solutions we have provided to government organizations under our legacy business for over a decade,” said David Helfgott, President and CEO of Inmarsat Government. “We understand the U.S. Government’s growing need for flexibility, resiliency and efficiency worldwide, and are committed to delivering cost-effective, innovative and secure communications to meet those requirements.”

The CS2 Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract has a base term of three years plus two one-year option periods. The contract will allow federal agencies to work with the prime contractors to receive large, end-to-end satellite networks that comprise complete, customized engineered solutions to meet customers’ unique commercial SATCOM needs. This includes satellite bandwidth; fixed or mobile satellite and service-enabling components such as terminals, handsets and terrestrial backbone; and engineering services to integrate, operate and maintain the solution.

Inmarsat Government brings together satellite capacity, terrestrial infrastructure, engineering support and information assurance to meet the mission demands of a wide range of U.S. government users. These solutions are platform-agnostic and fully interoperable with existing customer infrastructure. They will also integrate easily with Inmarsat’s new global Ka-band network, Global Xpress®, deploying from 2013, with full, global service expected by end 2014. By working as a partner to the U.S. public sector, especially during today’s challenging budget environment, Inmarsat Government enables continued delivery of mission-critical communications that ensure cost-efficiency.
