QTS Unveils Free Legacy-to-Cloud Conversion for Healthcare Software

SaaS Enablement program migrates on-premises applications to the cloud in 30 days

ATLANTA, GA (September 12, 2012)– QTS (Quality Technology Services), one of the largest and fastest-growing providers of private data center facilities and managed services, is now offering a free Legacy-to-Cloud 30-day program that migrates existing on-premises healthcare applications to the cloud. The SaaS Enablement professional services program offers medical software vendors a fast track to a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model by solving both the technical and business challenges of SaaS delivery.

QTS Healthcare Legacy-to-SaaSBacked by QTS’ best-in-class data center infrastructure and expertise in thin-client technologies, the QTS SaaS Enablement program migrates existing applications to the cloud during a 30-day pilot using the software vendor’s actual application and data. In the past, software companies faced long and expensive re-architecting projects in order to transition to a more flexible, secure and ultimately more profitable SaaS delivery model. With SaaS Enablement, the QTS services team makes necessary adjustments to the software user interface and data structure to operate in a web-based delivery model.

In addition to technical migration services, QTS eases the business side of SaaS transformation by offering end-customer billing, monitoring and ongoing licensing services – all key components of an effective SaaS business model. The 30-day pilot also includes a business support services assessment.

“SaaS Enablement allows software providers to simplify deployment to new and broader markets, to reduce operational expenses and to focus on quality and innovation rather than tech support and application re-coding,” said David Sung, executive vice president, product development – QTS. “QTS Cloud Services provides the physical, environmental, network and infrastructure resources needed to protect and deliver patient information securely all day, every day.”

Adoption of SaaS solutions in health care is on the rise. According to a recent study by MarketsandMarkets, more than one-third of health care facilities have adopted some form of cloud solution while 75 percent of organizations not using the cloud are considering doing so. SaaS Enablement provides an immediate legacy-to-cloud bridge for software vendors and allows them to quickly meet customer demand for cloud solutions.

In addition to cloud migration for health care, QTS provides health care organizations and software vendors with a wide array of HIPAA-compliant data center solutions, including colocation and cloud hosting. Leading health care companies such as MDdatacor and Resurgens Orthopaedics rely on QTS for secure, private data infrastructure solutions.

Interested software vendors can sign up for the free SaaS Enablement pilot program at www.qualitytech.com/customer-solutions/healthcare.
