NaviSite Expands Strategic Relationship with VMware and Announces Increased Customer Visibility and Control with NaviCloud AppCenter 2.0

Will Showcase Enhanced Solution Portfolio at VMworld® 2012, San Francisco at Booth 2035

Andover, Ma – August 27, 2012 – NaviSite, Inc., a premier provider of enterprise-class hosting, managed application, managed messaging and managed cloud services, today announced the release of NaviCloud AppCenter 2.0. This next generation cloud management portal now includes VMware vCloud Director® 5.1, and enhances the ability of customers to fine tune their cloud environments. With NaviCloud AppCenter 2.0, NaviSite is introducing more self-service options and providing new analytics functionality for better troubleshooting and capacity planning.

“We are continuing to execute on our strategy to give IT organizations more flexibility and control by providing additional self-service, configuration and visibility capabilities in AppCenter 2.0,” said David Grimes, CTO at NaviSite. “I’m proud to announce the expansion of our strategic partnership with VMware with the integration of VMware vCloud Director® 5.1. As we continue to enhance NaviCloud, our leading service delivery platform, and AppCenter, a robust cloud management portal, we believe the new services and functionality that VMware vCloud Director 5.1 will enable us to deliver are key for our enterprise customers.”

vCloud Director 5.1 is VMware’s solution for provisioning software-defined datacenter services for consumption in minutes. Enterprises and service providers using vCloud Director 5.1 are able to provision a complete infrastructure to their customers as virtual datacenters. Complete infrastructure services include new software-defined networking and security functionality as well as the ability to snapshot and revert virtual machines.

AppCenter 2.0 marks the next step in NaviSite’s cloud portfolio evolution which was expanded earlier this year to include the NaviCloud Desktop-as-a-Service offering and NaviCloud Intelligent Storage, a suite of cloud storage solutions. AppCenter 2.0 offers these advantages:

• Gives IT professionals enhanced visibility to NaviSite’s hybrid cloud applications services

• Enables additional visibility, configuration, management, monitoring and analytics for troubleshooting and capacity planning across cloud services

• Provides IT the agility and flexibility to respond quickly to the changing needs of the business

• Enables greater control in moving and distributing workloads between different clouds

• Accelerates provisioning with built-in security and role-based access control

“VMware is pleased NaviSite participated in the VMware vCloud Director® 5.1 beta program for their integration in the NaviCloud platform and AppCenter 2.0,” said Joe Andrews, director, Cloud Product Marketing, VMware. “NaviSite continues its focus of delivering innovative cloud solutions that offer choice together with IT control, flexibility and cost efficiencies to enterprise customers, powered by VMware vCloud® infrastructure technology.”
