ADTRAN and Troy Cable Partner for SmartBand Project Fiber Rollout

Broadband Stimulus winner selects ADTRAN’s broad portfolio of carrier access and enterprise solutions

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jul. 9, 2012– ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN, news, filings), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced that Troy Cable selected ADTRAN as a strategic partner to deliver a full range of carrier access and enterprise solutions for the Broadband Technologies Opportunities Program (BTOP) funded SmartBand Project. Troy Cable is deploying a 595 mile fiber optic Middle Mile network across the region that will enable high bandwidth voice, video and data to nearly 150 anchor institutions and 4,000 businesses in the area. Troy Cable selected ADTRAN’s broad portfolio of carrier access and enterprise solutions, including the Total Access® 5000 Multi-Service Access Platform (MSAP), Total Access® 900 series IP Business Gateways and the NetVanta® 7100Unified Communications platform to deploy a seamless end-to-end solution that can deliver speeds up to 1 Gbps per customer. In addition, ADTRAN’s Advanced Operational Environment (AOE) will provide comprehensive service-oriented management for Troy Cable’s network by integrating with existing billing/provisioning platforms to enable automation and offering intelligent service management functions that reduce Troy’s operational costs significantly.
