Zayo Group Obtains Metro Ethernet Forum Certification

LOUISVILLE, Colo. – June 13, 2012 – Zayo Group announces it has obtained Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) MEF 9 and MEF 14 certification.  The Metro Ethernet Forum is an organization responsible for accelerating the adopting of Carrier class Ethernet networks and services.  Zayo has been a member of MEF and recently obtained certification.

MEF certification is the globally recognized and trusted reference for Carrier Ethernet services standardization, and certification is only awarded following high marks on sets of tests regarding service functionality and service performance. These tests were conducted on live services across the Zayo network to ensure MEF standards were universally met in the areas of performance, interoperability, and reliability.

MEF 9 certification validates end-to-end service delivery and functionality and MEF 14 certification validates service performance and traffic management.  The certifications are valid for Zayo’s entire 45,000+ route mile network.  Zayo recently announced its agreement to acquire AboveNet, which is also MEF 9 and MEF 14 certified.

Zayo Group’s MEF certification demonstrates its commitment to utilizing best practices and supplying customers with the best solutions.
