DATAPIPE SELECTS HIBERNIA ATLANTIC’S WAVELENGTH SERVICE TO CONNECT ITS TWO LARGEST FINANCIAL MARKET DATACENTERS IN NEW YORK CITY AND LONDON

Offers Low Latency Routing, Diversity and DWDM Capabilities

Key Points:

  • Datapipe Selects Hibernia Atlantic to offer fast, diverse and flexible wavelength service from the New York Metro Area to London
  • As part of the growing partnership between the two companies, Hibernia will add network Points of Presence within Datapipe’s NJ and London data center facilities
  • Both companies’ customers will benefit from the extended reach, connectivity and services

SUMMIT, NJ & DUBLIN, IRELAND – June 19, 2012 – Hibernia Atlantic, a provider of global capacity services, announces today that it will provide wavelength services to Datapipe, a global provider of managed services and infrastructure for outsourced IT and cloud computing. The wavelengths will be deployed between Datapipe’s two largest financial markets, the New York Metro area and London. This additional capacity will provide Datapipe with diverse, secure and low-latency routing across a flexible, DWDM platform.  To further the growing relationship between the two companies, Hibernia Atlantic will establish additional Points of Presence (PoPs) into Datapipe’s carrier-class facilities in both New Jersey and London.

Datapipe is a leading provider of enterprise ready, mission critical IT service, delivering its services from the world’s most influential technical and financial markets including New York, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.  Datapipe has now enhanced its services by adding access to Hibernia’s low-latency network between New York and London—improving financial transaction speeds, as well as enabling fast turn up of new low latency routes on the Hibernia Network.  In addition, financial firms and exchanges on Hibernia’s Global Express Platform can now extend their reach into Datapipe’s locations for seamless access to its products and hosted services.

“Quick and reliable data transfers are the IT currency for financial institutions,” states Michael Parks, CTO of Datapipe. “We have selected Hibernia for our recent capacity upgrade, as the company shares in the same commitment to financial and wholesale market connectivity, with expertise and excellence in providing the highest level of customer service.  Hibernia’s low-latency routing options and 100 percent guaranteed SLAs are a welcome addition to Datapipe’s world-class network.”

“We are honored to move forward in our partnership with Datapipe,” continues Kathy Perone, Chief Operating Officer for Hibernia Atlantic. “We see the company as a strategic partner for both backbone services and client connectivity.  Once our network PoPs are deployed in their facilities, our customers can then access and exchange services with one another, further driving network value to all.”

Operating an extensive 24,000-kilometre submarine and terrestrial fibre optic network, Hibernia successfully delivers a wide range of high capacity services including wavelength, Layer 2 Ethernet and Sonet self-healing circuits across the globe. Additionally, Hibernia’s Project Express marks the first subsea transatlantic cable build in over 10 years. When completed, Project Express will connect New York to London with the lowest latency available, sub 60 ms RTD.  With Hibernia’s planned network deployments in the Datapipe locations, customers will be able to leverage this lowest latency connectivity, as well as Hibernia’s already diverse and secure global network and capacity. Hibernia’s network is monitored and maintained 24×7 to ensure 100% availability and optimal performance.
