Sunesys announced today that thirteen new K-12 customers were added during the recent 2012/2013 E-Rate season. These additional school districts bring the total count of Sunesys K-12 customers to 209. As well, a number of current customers upgraded or expanded their networks during this time frame. Sunesys serves school districts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio.
“Sunesys began installing networks for school districts fifteen years ago and this continues to be one of our strongest vertical markets. We are very proud to reach this 200 customer milestone in the local K-12 communities and provide so many teachers, faculty, and students with state of the art high bandwidth fiber networks,” said Larry Coleman, President.
Sunesys has also been actively working on the construction of the PennREN project. PennREN will provide colleges and universities, K-12 schools, public libraries, broadcasting facilities and medical facilities throughout the State of Pennsylvania access to state of the art connectivity solutions. Final splicing and testing is underway for Phase I and in total over 750 route miles of fiber have already been installed on the 1600+ mile network. Construction for the project remains on schedule for an early 2013 completion.
Sunesys has also been busy in other market segments, recently providing a number of large healthcare and enterprise institutions with fiber networks. Sunesys now has over 7,000 route miles of fiber network connecting over 4,100 buildings and thousands of wireless nodes in nine states.
