SC1 uses recycled water for all of its evaporative chilled water cooling tower make-up and landscape irrigation needs.  By incorporating recycled water into the data center design, it conserves the Bay Area’s precious potable water supply.

SC1 is one of the largest data centers located in Silicon Valley.  It is constructed in two identical phases, each comprising 18.2 megawatts of available critical load power capacity and approximately 88,000 square feet of computing space.  SC1 obtained LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

“We are pleased to have been a recipient of this award,” commented Hossein Fateh, President and Chief Executive Officer, of DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc.  “Not only is our commitment to provide our tenants with an efficient and cost effective solution for their data center requirements, but also to build environmentally conscious data centers.”
