Cbeyond Enhances Leadership Team with Cloud and Professional Services Veterans

Addition of Chris Ortbals, Matthew Stevens to Strengthen Development and Delivery of Enterprise-Grade Cloud and Network Services

ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Cbeyond, Inc. (NASDAQ:CBEY, news, filings), a leading provider of network and cloud services to over 62,000 small and medium sized businesses, today announced the addition of technology veterans, Chris Ortbals and Matthew Stevens, to its executive management team. Ortbals joins the Company as its new Vice President of Cloud Services Product Management and Development, while Stevens assumes the role of Vice President of Professional Services.

In their new roles, Ortbals and Stevens will provide strategic direction and execution to further develop cloud and network services throughout Cbeyond’s customer base.

Ortbals brings nearly 13 years of network, managed services, hosting and cloud experience to his role at Cbeyond, where he will guide product management and systems development for the Company’s cloud and network services. Before joining Cbeyond, Ortbals held several senior leadership positions across a decade of work with St. Louis-based IT and cloud services provider Savvis, where he built their Symphony Virtual Private Data Center (VPDC) solution from the ground up. In this role, Ortbals was responsible for the product management and product development of Savvis’ flagship cloud services platform.

In heading the Company’s professional services division, Stevens will lead customer satisfaction and value delivery initiatives across Cbeyond’s technology portfolio. He joins Cbeyond with more than two decades of industry experience, including building and leading successful professional services businesses serving clients including Choicepoint, Coca-Cola and EarthLink. In his most recent position, Stevens served as the president of Atlanta-based High Tech Ministries, a non-profit organization dedicated to building faith, fellowship and service among the local technology community.
