GLOBENET COMPLETES MEF SERVICES CERTIFICATION PROCESS

  • GlobeNet’s Carrier Ethernet services are now fully compliant with MEF standards of quality and performance
  • Certification includes MEF 9 (Service Conformance) and MEF 14 (Service Performance)

BOCA RATON, FL – April 17, 2012GlobeNet, an international wholesale provider of submarine capacity, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Oi, announces today it has received its MEF certification.  This certification process verifies both the compliance and the performance of GlobeNet’s Carrier Ethernet product portfolio.

GlobeNet’s completion of the certification process demonstrates its commitment to delivering standardized services with proven levels of reliability and performance.   The process took several weeks of extensive planning and testing, and concluded with the successful certification of its EPL (Ethernet Private Line), EVPL (Ethernet Virtual Private Line), and E-LAN (Ethernet LAN) services.  The MEF certification is widely recognized and trusted by wholesale buyers and expected to provide a competitive advantage over non-certified services being offered by other providers.

“MEF Certification allows GlobeNet’s Carrier Ethernet portfolio to meet the most stringent industry standards,” states Erick W. Contag, Chief Operating Officer of GlobeNet.  “Through the recent enhancements to our Ethernet services, we have prepared our product line to meet the high level of service availability customers and the MEF require.  GlobeNet’s continuous commitment to meeting customers’ evolving needs while remaining competitive in the marketplace is demonstrated through our MEF compliance and official certification.”

GlobeNet’s Carrier Ethernet portfolio includes three distinct offers including Ethernet Private Line (EPL) and two variations of Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL).  The implementation of EPL is based on Ethernet over SDH (EoS) transport technology, providing customers dedicated bandwidth for customers requiring a high level of privacy and security.  EVPL is being offered with either guaranteed or shared bandwidth offering customers the flexibility to meet their budget needs.  For more information on GlobeNet’s Ethernet services and solutions, please visit www.globenet.net.
