Geo Networks Joins Interxion’s Content Hub to Meet Growing Digital Demand

LONDON – 6 March 2012 – INTERXION HOLDING NV (NYSE:INXN, news), a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, today announced that dedicated fibre infrastructure provider, Geo Networks Ltd (Geo) has become part of the Content Hub community in Interxion’s City of London data centre . A long-standing Interxion partner, Geo has expanded its footprint in Interxion’s data centre in order to better serve the needs of the digital media community.

The explosion of online content and technologies such as social computing have led to impressive growth in the UK’s digital economy, and these digital businesses have a particular requirement for reliable, low-latency, high-bandwidth connections.

Geo’s dedicated fibre services give customers, such as toptable.com and bet365 the ability to flex their network up to terabit capacity, quickly and efficiently. This scalable infrastructure is critical to any web-based business, to enable it to fight DDoS attacks whilst leaving sufficient bandwidth to continue day-to-day operations, essential for running uninterrupted online services. By combining this with the secure and scalable co-location services offered by Interxion, digital businesses can deliver an excellent experience to their end-users.

Interxion’s Content Hubs provide the ideal environment for effective content aggregation, exchange, storage, management and distribution. They also enable customers to interconnect with a large and growing digital media community, helping to optimise European distribution and to minimise costs.

Andy Tipping, Online Sector Head at Geo’, commented, “Interxion’s record in providing efficient and reliable colocation services makes it an ideal partner for Geo. Being part of the Content Hub community means being right in the centre of a bespoke digital marketplace where our customers can benefit from the highest levels of uptime, reliability and security for their business-critical applications.”

Greg McCulloch, UK Managing Director, Interxion, commented, “The growth of our relationships with Geo further reflects our commitment to the digital media sector and gives our customers access to additional services. Our hubs or communities of interest are about developing a virtual marketplace where likeminded business can benefit from mutually beneficial relationships, and Geo is a great example of this in action.”
