Internap Broad IT Infrastructure Portfolio, Geographic Footprint Allow Leading Marketing Data and Analytics Provider to Effortlessly Serve Global Customer Base

eXelate adds VoxSERVER dedicated hosting to existing colocation and high-performance IP services from Internap

ATLANTA – February 23, 2012 ─ Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ:INAP, news, filings), a provider of intelligent IT Infrastructure services, today announced that leading marketing data and analytics platform provider eXelate has selected Internap’s highly scalable dedicated hosting services. eXelate, which already uses Internap’s colocation and route-optimized IP services, chose to extend the relationship based on Internap’s flexible platform and geographic reach. eXelate can now quickly and cost-effectively scale its hosting services using Internap’s global footprint of high-performance IT Infrastructure services.

As the leading data and analytics engine powering optimal digital marketing decisions, eXelate required a cost-effective, scalable hosting solution to quickly expand its colocated infrastructure footprint. Internap didn’t previously offer the “bare metal” services eXelate’s engineering team required. However, with its acquisition of Voxel* in December 2011, Internap was able to provide eXelate with on-demand VoxSERVERs, the dedicated server offering built on top of Voxel’s VoxSTRUCTURE automation platform.

The “bare metal” VoxSERVERs combine the performance, flexible configurations and reliability of a dedicated hosting environment with the billing flexibility of cloud servers. Now, eXelate can dynamically provision additional dedicated infrastructure across Internap’s distributed data center footprint, placing high performance infrastructure near strategic customer markets, reducing the need for capital investments and contractual commitments previously required to scale its colocated footprint.

“As a satisfied Internap customer, we were very excited to learn that, through its acquisition of Voxel, we could add the dedicated hosting service we were looking for,” said Elad Efraim, chief technology officer at eXelate. “The VoxSERVER solution delivers the superior levels of scalability and performance that we have come to rely on with Internap’s colocation and IP services, while allowing us to keep our costs low and more clearly align our IT spend to the consumption of our services in the marketplace. Additionally, Internap’s global reach will allow us to align our IT Infrastructure build outs with the demands of our international client base.”

Internap recently expanded its international portfolio, adding both physical VoxSERVERs and virtual VoxCLOUD servers in Amsterdam, building on its existing offering of colocation, IP services and CDN in Europe. The Amsterdam expansion follows Internap’s aggressive data center and IP services growth over the past year, with new facility openings in Dallas and Santa Clara and the addition of a full range of public and private cloud services to its infrastructure services portfolio. Adding to the total momentum, Voxel recently opened a new VoxCLOUD hosting facility in San Jose and a new data center and dark fiber network in Singapore.

“Bringing the VoxSERVER platform to Europe underscores Internap’s mission to deliver the highest levels of IT Infrastructure platform flexibility to enterprises globally,” said John Freimuth, vice president of managed hosting and cloud services at Internap. “We’re increasingly seeing customers like eXelate that want access to a diverse range of high-performance IT Infrastructure services on a single platform. Internap provides this flexibility today – from public and private cloud to dedicated and managed hosting to colocation and a performance-optimized IP network – at locations spanning three continents.”

*Editor’s Note: Internap announced the acquisition of cloud and hosting provider Voxel on January 3, 2012.
