Cloud Provider eApps Chooses QTS’ Richmond Data Center for Hosting

eApps is one of many existing customers taking advantage of QTS’ flexibility and scalability

ATLANTA (January 10, 2012)

Key Highlights:

  • Private cloud provider cites rapid growth of global customer base, need for multi-data center interconnectivity in expanding footprint with QTS.
  • The expansion is eApps fourth with QTS in past 10 months.
  • The new deployment highlights QTS’ ability to scale as its customers grow.

eAppsQTS (Quality Technology Services), one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing providers of data center facilities and managed services, today announced that private cloud provider eApps is expanding its presence into the QTS Richmond Data Center.  eApps has been hosting its cloud computing customers in QTS’ Suwanee Data Center, expanding its footprint in that facility three times in 2011. eApps’ previous positive experiences with QTS combined with its need for multi-data center connectivity led the company to select an additional QTS facility to host its growing private cloud services.

Initially, the expansion in Richmond, Va. will allow eApps to host 500 private cloud customers in Virginia.  The company plans to continue increasing its footprint within both the Richmond and Suwanee Data Centers later in 2012.

The QTS Suwanee Data Center is in the tech-heavy northern suburbs of Atlanta and houses 372,000 square feet of the more than 1.3 million square feet offered by QTS in metro Atlanta.  Meanwhile, the rapidly expanding QTS Richmond Data Center is a 1.3 million square foot campus that continues to add customer ready space and power for those seeking a mid-Atlantic presence.

“Expanding into Richmond is a natural next step as we continue to grow our infrastructure and serve our customers,” said Richard Lingsch, president – eApps.    “The redundancy, security, service and collaborative nature of our partnership with QTS has been an asset to our business.  We look forward to growing and deepening that relationship in this new state-of-the-art facility.”

The eApps expansion is one of QTS’ many recent customer wins exemplifying QTS’ superior IT infrastructure service hosting capabilities.   The scalability provided by QTS’ large footprint data centers offers flexible deployment schedules desired by companies like eApps that must grow according to their customers’ needs, but also need the ability to scale deployments as requirements grow.

“We’re pleased with the confidence that eApps continues to show in QTS as it expands the relationship with our company by hosting its private cloud customers both in Richmond and Suwanee,” said Brian Johnston, chief technology officer – QTS. “As the nation’s third largest data center provider, we continue to grow thanks to customers such as eApps, who find our scalability and flexibility ideal for their growing businesses.   Our business model of building large, state-of-the-art data centers to support our customers’ growth continues to be validated by both customer retention and new opportunities, which will lead to continued revenue growth in 2012.”
