Telx’s Dallas C3 Data Center Powers Transtelco Fiber Optics

Leading Interconnection and Colocation Provider Powers Transtelco’s Newly Launched Fiber Optic Internet and Voice Services in its Carrier-Dense Dallas C3 Cloud Connection Center

New York, NY (December 14, 2011)Telx® today announced that Transtelco is the newest fiber optics communications service provider leveraging its connection-rich Dallas C3 Cloud Connection Center. The leading enterprise and wholesale network services provider will leverage Telx’s SSAE 16-compliant Dallas C3 data center as a central Point of Presence (PoP) – enabling Transtelco to better manage last-mile delivery of its fiber optic Internet and voice services.

Located in the heart of the largest border region in North America, Transtelco’s geographic focus includes the entire southern United States and Mexico border. The company delivers premier telecommunications services, including Transport, Direct Internet Access and Voice solutions for carrier and enterprise customers over a next-generation DWDM platform.  Its fiber optic networks are specifically geared towards meeting the growing demand of today’s Fortune 1000.

“Over the years, we’ve made a concerted effort to partner with leaders like Telx to optimize the delivery of our fiber optic-based business communications services to enterprises across Mexico and the Southwestern United States,” said Edgar Mosti, Vice President, Wholesale Network Services at Transtelco.  “We currently have more than 2,500+ miles of fiber optic cable delivering unrivaled carrier and Internet service options on both sides of the border.  Now, leveraging the power of Telx colocation and interconnection in the key city of Dallas, we’re in an even better position to exceed customer requirements in this ever-growing market.”

With its “Fiber Forward” approach, Transtelco uses a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) and point-to-point Ethernet technologies with Metro Networks to meet customer demand for flexible and carrier-class, high bandwidth services.  These include support for E1, T1, gigabit Ethernet, and a variety of Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) services.  To effectively power this strategy, Transtelco turned to Telx.

“Our C3 Cloud Connection Center in Dallas is at the very nexus of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area, serving as a communications hub for national and international communications networks in the Southwestern United States.  Customers can leverage our suite of InterConnection options to directly access the leading domestic and international carriers and physical connections points of the world’s telecommunications networks and Internet backbones,” said Christopher Eldredge, general manager of Ethernet Exchange and Product Management for Telx.  “Transtelco has quickly built a reputation as operating one of the most reliable networks on the border.  By joining forces, we can ensure the seamless delivery of quality, reliable, next-generation services to the critical customer base in this region.”
