Level 3 Enhances Customer Experience by Broadening Scope of Customer Portal

New MyLevel3 Quoting Functionality Enables Wholesale Customers and Resellers to Self-Generate Service Quotes for a Variety of Level 3’s Network Services

BROOMFIELD, Colo. , Dec. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE: LVLT – News) today announced that it has broadened the scope of the MyLevel3 customer portal to include a new service quoting capability that supports Level 3’s wholesale customers and resellers, enabling them to create, save, view and update quotes for a variety of Level 3’s advanced network services from within the portal.

MyLevel3 is Level 3’s online account management tool that streamlines the customer’s service management process and provides them with the reports needed to simplify account management, save time and control costs. In addition to providing a streamlined overview of customer service information via an intuitive interface, Level 3 has enhanced the MyLevel3 portal to enable customers to generate their own service quotes. With this capability, wholesale customers and resellers gain greater control and efficiency by virtue of the fact that they can now manage their own quotes when and how they want to without engaging sales, enabling a quick turnaround and the ability to secure new communications services more quickly. The quotes reflect a customer’s negotiated rates and offer a one-stop shop for businesses looking to expand their network service capabilities.

The portal is an integral component of Level 3’s customer experience initiatives and a crucial resource that supports the company’s longstanding commitment to continually improve the customer experience and increase customer satisfaction.

“Customers have told us that they want a provider who is committed to the holistic delivery of a quality experience,” said Peter Neill , chief customer experience officer and business process engineering lead for Level 3. “With the availability of this enhanced quoting functionality, we are providing our wholesale customers and resellers with the automation, control and increased productivity they need and demonstrating our commitment to providing an industry-leading customer experience as the reliable choice in the marketplace.”

The new quoting capability allows wholesale customers and resellers to get specific pricing for a variety of Level 3 services, including private line, Ethernet private line, Ethernet virtual private line (EVPL) and dedicated Internet access (DIA). Additionally, these users now have the ability to tag, save and search quotes through a variety of user-friendly categories, such as opportunity or request for proposal (RFP), user, date or service quoted. The new flexible functionality also allows these users to pre-load network meeting points with Level 3 and obtain real-time quotes by only entering one address.
