Austin, TX – December 1, 2011Data Foundry, a leading provider of data center outsourcing, secure colocation and disaster recovery solutions, announces that its Texas 1 and ADC data centers have successfully obtained a SOC1 Type II unqualified opinion according to the guidelines of SSAE 16.

SSAE 16 replaces the previous auditing standard, SAS 70. The requirements of SSAE 16 are very similar to the SAS 70 requirements with one main difference in the report – the inclusion of a written assertion from management regarding the design and operating effectiveness of the controls being audited.

As in previous years, Data Foundry obtained a Type II report which requires the company to obtain an audit of the operating effectiveness of the internal controls at the data centers in addition to obtaining an audit verifying that the design of the internal control environment was appropriate.

“As an online service provider, it’s imperative that we keep our customers’ data safe as part of our overall commitment to exceptional customer service,” explains Chris Mack, CFO of Apptix, a current Data Foundry customer. “Having our IT infrastructure in a SSAE 16 audited data center is an absolute requirement of our business.”

“We understand that it is important to our customers to be colocated within an SSAE 16 audited data center,” states Shane Menking, President of Data Foundry. “Obtaining a SOC 1 Type II unqualified opinion according to the guidelines of SSAE 16 for both our Texas 1 and ADC data centers affirms Data Foundry’s commitment to maintaining the highest industry standards.”
