Infinera Features Latest Product Releases and 100 Gigabit Ethernet Demonstration at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo

SUNNYVALE, CA, Nov 15, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — Infinera (NASDAQ:INFN, news, filings), a leading provider of digital optical communications systems, will feature the latest release of its DTN metro and long haul DWDM Digital ROADM, ATN WDM metro edge platform, and Infinera’s DTN-X, the industry’s first multi-terabit packet-optical transport platform this week at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.

SCTE Cable-Tec Expo runs today through Thursday, November 17th at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. In addition to showcasing new products, Infinera will also feature a live 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) demonstration on Infinera’s Express truck located in Hall B4 Booth #2259.

Infinera DTN Release 7.0 Infinera’s DTN platform offers new capabilities including 40 and 100 GbE service interfaces to support high-bandwidth applications and a new DWDM line-card supporting 40 Gb/s per wavelength coherent optical transmission, enabling the DTN platform to scale up to 6.4 Tb/s of transmission capacity per fiber.

Infinera ATN Release 3.0 Infinera’s ATN 3.0 enhances the capabilities of the ATN by adding Ethernet Add Drop Multiplexing (ADM) on a blade functionality, extending the ATN regional reach up to 700km, and supporting 4G Fiber Channel services, making the ATN the ideal optical platform for cable operators for edge aggregation and commercial services. The Infinera ATN platform continues to support Ethernet, SONET/SDH, OTN, video services and multiservice aggregation to 10Gb/s wavelengths and fully automated optical power management.

Infinera DTN-X Designed with 500 Gb/s super-channel Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), Infinera’s DTN-X offers cable operators a cost-effective multi-terabit DWDM transport and switching platform. The DTN-X is interoperable with the DTN platform and is planned to support 10/40/100 Gb/s Ethernet and OTN as well as 10/40 Gb/s SONET/SDH and 8/10 Gb/s Fibre Channel.

In a live demonstration on the Infinera Express, Infinera will deliver a 100 GbE signal from an EXFO test set to an Infinera DTN network with a 100 GbE service module, and back to the test set to confirm the signal integrity. The Infinera 100 GbE interfaces are available today and are fully compliant with IEEE 802.3ba. Testing and verification of the transmission will be performed with an EXFO FTB-85100G Packet Blazer tester, the industry’s first compact portable 40/100 GbE and OTN testing solution.

“Infinera solutions are valued by cable MSOs for their ability to accelerate and simplify service turn-up while delivering enhanced scalability and flexibility to meet customer demands,” said Gaylord Hart, Infinera Director of CATV Marketing. “Infinera’s latest product releases demonstrate that Infinera is continuing to invest and innovate to ensure that cable operators will benefit from these platforms.”

At the show, Infinera product and technology experts will be available to discuss Infinera’s solutions. To schedule a meeting, contact your Infinera representative or email events@infinera.com.
