Akamai Expands Global NetAlliance Partner Program to Create Robust Digital Media Ecosystem

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – November 16, 2011 – Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM, news, filings), the leading cloud platform for helping enterprises provide secure, high-performing user experiences on any device, anywhere, today announced an expansion of its NetAlliance Partner Program to include digital media partners, and the launch of its NetAlliance Solution Partner Program. Akamai’s NetAlliance Partner Program for Digital Media includes more than 40 value added resellers and solution partners, helping joint customers quickly and easily scale global operations and deploy advanced video solutions. Akamai’s NetAlliance Partner Program is designed for global solution providers to integrate Akamai’s services into their offerings and pass the value of Akamai’s cloud platform on to their customers.

As businesses face increasing complexity when delivering video securely to any device, anywhere, Akamai offers a tightly-integrated ecosystem of digital media partners through which customers can access best-of-breed solutions to meet their needs, allowing them to concentrate on their core competencies.

Akamai has established successful global alliances with digital media leaders including premier partners like Brightcove, Internet Broadcasting, Kaltura, Kit Digital, Ooyala, and thePlatform, allowing joint customers to access a rich set of technology solutions. Today’s digital media companies face a host of challenges and need a comprehensive package of solutions to address the complexities they face. The Akamai NetAlliance Partner Program now enables customers to choose from leaders in integrated post-production, transcoding, encoding, content management, monetization and player development solutions.

Akamai has also brought on more than half a dozen new digital media partners into its NetAlliance Partner Program. They include Celtra, deltatre, and QuickPlay Media, bringing mobile video platform, mobile advertising, mobile marketing, live video player technology, Internet and IT services capabilities to the Akamai partner ecosystem.

Inaugural companies include Civolution, Digital Rapids, Elemental, Envivio, Haivision, Harmonic and Max Sound. Digital Rapids, Elemental, Envivio, Haivision, and Harmonic have integrated their solutions with the Akamai HD Network and have customers delivering content across Akamai.
