ATLANTA – October 25, 2011– Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ:INAP, news, filings), a provider of intelligent IT Infrastructure services, today announced availability of new in-stream transmuxing services for live and on-demand mobile content delivery on the Internap Content Delivery Network (CDN). These enhancements enable customers to ingest a single content stream or file for optimization across myriad devices, simplifying production for live and on-demand video delivery and ensuring high-quality playback across an expanded number of platforms to meet consumer demand.

Powered by Concurrent’s eFACTOR™ Transmux, a scalable, enterprise-level multi-format content delivery solution, Internap’s new in-stream transmuxing capabilities dynamically repackage content in transmission to meet the formatting requirements of various end-user devices, including the iPhone®, iPad™ and Android-powered devices, as well as those that support Microsoft® Silverlight. Internap’s CDN delivers top performance through Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) HTTP Streaming for high-quality video playback and integrated TCP acceleration via Internap’s Accelerated IP (XIP™) service for faster content delivery.

“Consumers of digital content today expect a high-quality streaming experience whether they’re watching a live event or downloading a webpage and whether they are using a tethered PC, an Android-powered mobile device or an iPad,” said Pete Mastin, vice president of the CDN business unit at Internap. “Our blazingly fast CDN service enables content providers to produce a single quality stream or asset and then deliver it across a wide variety of end-user devices, while ensuring a consistent, quality experience.”

Used by customers worldwide across a range of industries—including media and entertainment, online retailers, education, healthcare, financial services and others—Internap’s XIP-powered CDN provides a complete solution for accelerated delivery of live and on-demand video streaming. Mobile and web-based content and applications load faster and maintain accelerated performance. Its “set and forget” capabilities allow organizations to focus exclusively on content creation by simplifying and streamlining the workflow for content uploading, transcoding, management and reporting.
