BroadSoft Unveils BroadTouch

Enabling Service Providers to Deliver Unified Communications Services Seamlessly Across a Variety of Devices

GAITHERSBURG, MD, October 31, 2011 – BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFT, news, filings) today announced BroadTouch™ – a new product line that provides enterprise end-users and consumers with intuitive user interfaces to access their unified communications (UC) services across their preferred communication device, whether a desktop computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet.

BroadTouch includes a range of user experience applications, including Business Communicator, which brings together voice, video, instant messaging and presence, on a single interface that spans mobile and desktop platforms, including Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. BroadTouch harnesses the power of the BroadWorks® application platform and BroadCloud™, the firm’s cloud-based service delivery platform, and extends these innovative communication services directly to the end-user. BroadTouch also includes BroadSoft’s clients for call center agents, call center supervisors, receptionists, text messaging and web collaboration. Each BroadTouch application can be customized to meet the specific needs of BroadSoft’s global service provider customers.

“We have led the industry in developing software that empowers our service provider customers to deliver modern communications services over their IP networks. With BroadTouch we are unleashing our innovative services from these networks and putting them in the hands of end-users,” said Michael Tessler, president and CEO, BroadSoft. “We believe BroadTouch will eliminate the need for enterprise end-users and consumers to use multiple clients for each communication service and instead provide a single application for all their communications services – from any device and any location.”

Analyst firm Gartner predicts that 1.79 billion mobile communications devices will be sold worldwide in 2011, a 12 percent increase from 2010, driven by growth in smartphone adoption. BroadTouch was developed specifically so that global telecommunications service providers seeking to leverage this market growth will have the ability to:

  • Deliver a consistent, intuitive user experience to end-users
  • Ensure services are seamlessly integrated across multiple devices and networks
  • Customize BroadTouch applications to meet their specific service offerings and branding guidelines

BroadSoft also today announced it has completed the acquisition of Helsinki, Finland-based Movial Applications, a privately held developer of client applications for IP communications services.
