BTI Systems to Showcase Dynamic Optical Layer and Talk Challenges to Managing Network Growth, Backhaul Strategies at COMPTEL PLUS

Ottawa – September 26, 2011

BTI Systems, the networking company that creates high-capacity and agile service infrastructures for the metro, will showcase the capabilities of the recently launched Dynamic Optical Layer, October 2-5 at the COMPTEL PLUS Fall 2011 Convention & Expo, being held at the Gaylord Palms Hotel & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Members of the BTI Systems executive team will also participate in panel discussions aimed at addressing the most pressing issues service providers are tackling today – managing network growth and transitioning the backhaul network.

On Tuesday, October 4, Glenn Thurston, VP of Global Marketing, will participate in the panel Managing Network Growth: Meeting Demands and Expectations. The discussion will be aimed at tackling the business issues created by the need to keep pace with capacity demands for broadband services, while lowering the cost of infrastructure investments and generating new revenue.

Also on Tuesday, October 4, Dirk Tempel, Director, Portfolio Strategy, will be on the panel Transitioning from TDM to Packet Technology in the Backhaul Network. Panelists will chart the progress that carriers are making in migrating to packet-based backhaul technology including an overview of the options available to leverage various packet protocols, end-to-end service assurance, QoS, the evolving OAM environment and the outlook for eliminating DS1s from the backhaul network altogether.
