Allworx, a wholly owned subsidiary of PAETEC Holding Corp. (NASDAQ GS: PAET) announced today that is has received awards for “Best Channel Product of 2011” in the categories of IP PBX and IP Phone. The complete listing of awards can be found in the August 2011 issue of Business Solutions Magazine (BSM).

The publication partnered with Penn State University in order to calculate the 11,711 votes casted via a Web-based survey taken by 1,490 verified BSM reseller subscribers. Seven categories were measured in the survey including three product-related ones: Product Features, Product Reliability, and Product Innovation. The Best Channel Products survey only consists of those vendors that scored the highest in the product categories.

The Allworx 48x phone system excelled in the VAR Ability to Service and Ease of Upgrade ratings for both the IP PBX and IP Phones category. The Allworx 48x supports both analog and VoIP phones, being the only system that offers built-in connections to traditional phones lines, T1/PRI, and SIP services. As the IP-based phone trend continues to grow, providers need to supply systems that serve a variety of businesses whether they want to switch all of their lines over to VoIP or do so gradually.

“This award is an honor and provides further proof that our efforts to deliver innovative products that are easy to use and support are being recognized by the VAR community,” said Chris Hasenauer, president of Allworx. “We’re very proud of our 48x system and the versatility that it can offer to businesses. By combining affordability with the ability to interface with both analog and VoIP services, both SMBs and small locations of larger enterprises can finally have access to the advanced features of next generation technology while not having to break the bank to do so.”

The 48x can support up to 250 users per system. It has two T1/PRI interfaces that make it the perfect solution for businesses which are too large for a single PRI, but not so large that they need to install an enterprise-class solution. The 48x also offers full support for all Allworx VoIP phones, contains energy efficient design for maximum energy cost savings, and has solid state drive for increased reliability.
