$30,000 Prize Awaits Winning Video Advertisements Featuring IT Jargon in Everyday Life
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 6, 2011 — MegaPath Inc., one of the leading providers of managed data, voice, and security services in North America, recently launched a new crowdsourcing video contest with Zooppa, the world’s leading source of user-generated advertising, to produce a series of online videos promoting MegaPath’s leading services. The contest will award a total of $30,000 for the winning 60-second videos that feature people using obscure IT jargon to discuss the finer points of communications technology.
“Whether it’s VoIP, firewalls or our ability to discuss broadband upload and download speeds, IT jargon permeates our daily lives,” said Beth Tyejbee, Vice President of Marketing, MegaPath. “Zooppa’s community of more than 100,000 members have created video advertisements for some of the most recognized brands around, and MegaPath is excited to leverage their work to help reinforce our brand to our key partners, customers and buyers.”
Contestants are encouraged to submit videos now through August 12, featuring people arguing different IT points of view, trying to convince a boss about an obscure point, or various other ways techies waxing poetically about their high-tech muses. To help with the complexity of the language that could be used, an IT jargon dictionary is available on the contest website.
In addition to the video contest, there is a separate Jargon Contest for IT Professionals and MegaPath partners. IT Professionals and consultants can enter their favorite tech term via Twitter or place their comment on the Jargon Dictionary page for a chance to win $500.
Contestants can visit www.megapath.com/videocontest for entry rules and to submit their winning videos. To read the latest news about the contest, visit the MegaPath Blog, http://www.megapath.com/blog/, or follow the conversation on Twitter by searching for #ITJargon.
