Spread Networks to Add Connectivity to DuPont Fabros New Jersey Data Center

Spread Networks Brings Low Latency High Bandwidth and Diverse Connectivity to Piscataway making DFT’s NJ1 data center the farthest west end-point in NJ on its flagship and purpose-built Chicago to New York network

Ridgeland, MS – June 15, 2011 – Spread Networks, LLC, a privately owned telecommunications provider, today announced it will provide an all-new fiber network into DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc (DFT) NJ1 data center located in Piscataway, New Jersey. Spread Networks currently provides connectivity into data centers in Carteret, Secaucus, Newark, and Weehawken, New Jersey.

Spread Networks offers a full range of connectivity services from Chicago to New York. These include the flagship Spread Networks® Chicago-NY Dark Fiber service with a guaranteed round-trip latency of under 13.33 milliseconds, Spread Networks® Ultra Low Latency Wave service with an SLA of 14.75 milliseconds, and Spread Networks® Low Latency Wave service with an SLA of 15.9 milliseconds.

As part of the network build, Spread Networks will be able to leverage DFT’s 3-Lateral Underground Telecommunications Duct Bank in Piscataway and offer a secure, reliable and diverse fiber entrance into DFT’s NJ1 Data Center. The all new network does not share fiber or points of presence with existing networks, giving customers within NJ1 a diverse and secure route from Chicago to New York. These customers will also benefit from Spread Networks’ scalability, with wave offerings at 1G and 10G and the ability to provision hundreds of waves on the Spread Networks’ Dark Fiber. The Spread Network will enable DFT customers to connect directly into various financial exchanges hosted in the New York and New Jersey area by offering a direct connection into Spread’s existing end-points in New Jersey.

“Our customers require high capacity and network diversity,” said Hossein Fateh, President and Chief Executive Officer for DuPont Fabros Technology. “Spread Networks has one of the most modern, diverse, high bandwidth, low latency networks from Chicago to New York and we welcome Spread Network to our NJ1 data center.”

“Spread networks recently announced a cost-effective 10G Chicago-New York Low Latency Wave service, which is designed for customers looking for high bandwidth on a diverse new network” said David Barksdale, CEO of Spread Networks. “We are pleased to work with DuPont Fabros Technology to bring this state of the art network to their customers in New Jersey.”
