PTGi International Carrier Services Joins Telx Ethernet Exchange

Global Voice and IP Communications Provider Leverages Telx’s 60 Hudson St. New York Data Center to Simplify Access for its Metro New York Area Customers

Telecom Exchange – New York, NY (June 29, 2011) – Telx®, a leading interconnection and data center provider in strategic North American markets, today announced that PTGi International Carrier Services (ICS), the wholesale operations unit of PTGi (Primus Telecommunications Group, Incorporated) – OTCBB: PMUG, has joined the Telx Ethernet Exchange. PTGi ICS will leverage the facility-neutral Ethernet Exchange to enable fast and cost-effective access to PTGi’s data services platform.

“PTGi has been a long-standing Interconnection Center customer of Telx, and we see the Ethernet Exchange as an additional way for Telx customers in the New York Metro area to reach both our data services platform as well as  thexchangeSM to buy and sell VoIP termination,” said John Melick, President of PTGi International Carrier Services.

“Our data services platform offers optimized Internet solutions that simplifies IP transit supplier management offering one connection to access multiple ISPs simultaneously,” adds Ian Campbell, Director Product Management & Product Development at PTGi.  “With the Telx Ethernet Exchange, now we can eliminate the need for a local loop, and provide connectivity not only from Telx’s 60 Hudson Street facility but their 111 8th Avenue and Clifton, NJ facilities as well, providing enhanced cost savings with an increased speed of deployment.”

PTGi delivers innovative voice and IP solutions that assist communications companies in creating efficient and valuable global interconnections. Through the Telx Ethernet Exchange, PTGi can distribute their product set while offering greater connectivity to customers in the New York Metro area that require secure, flexible and cost-effective Internet and Voice over IP services.

“The Telx Ethernet Exchange is a growing community of global and U.S.-based carriers, service providers and Enterprise data networks. Ethernet Exchange members like PTGi can leverage our technology to accelerate growth and distribute their advanced IP solutions quickly and cost effectively,” said Glenn Calafati, Vice President of Interconnection Center services for Telx. “The Telx Ethernet Exchange is the right choice in the seamless, strategic delivery of advanced IP services.”
