  • Company to address the changing Internet landscape as businesses transition to IPv6


TOKYO, JAPAN – June 6, 2011 – Greg Lazar, Vice President & General Manager of APAC, EMEA, and South America at Akamai Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM, news, filings), the leading provider of cloud optimization services, will speak at Interop Tokyo 2011 to be held from June 7-10, 2011. Mr. Lazar will deliver the keynote presentation entitled, “The Future of the Internet: Changes in Internet Landscape with Transition to IPv6.” Patrick Gilmore, Chief Network Architect of Akamai, will act as co-presenter.

Greg Lazar joined Akamai in 2005, and has over 30 years experience in high technology sales. Prior to joining Akamai, Mr. Lazar served as head of worldwide sales for eCommerce provider ATG. Mr. Lazar has also served as CEO of Innovia, a company dedicated to producing live marketing events. He has held roles as Vice President of Sales in America for PictureTel, and has been in sales positions for over 10 years each with Lotus Development Corporation and IBM, respectively.

Patrick Gilmore has worked at Akamai for nearly 11 years, where he currently holds the position of Chief Network Architect, managing the Network Architecture group. Mr. Gilmore’s group is responsible for all peering and routed interconnections at Akamai, as well as working with various other groups to procure all capacity, space, power, and cooling for Akamai’s world-wide network. Prior to Akamai, Patrick worked at Onyx Networks, Concentric Networks, and Priori Networks. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Seattle Internet Exchange and the North American Operators’ Group; as well as an Administrator of the PeeringDB.
