Expansion provides capacity to serve global customer demand
SANTA CLARA (May 3, 2011) – QTS (Quality Technology Services), one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing providers of data centers and managed services, today announced that it has completed the first phase of a new 70,000 square foot data center on its Santa Clara campus. The new building will effectively double the square footage available from QTS in the Silicon Valley market.
QTS’ original 67,179 square foot Santa Clara data center building featured 39,510 square feet of raised floor space. The completion of the first phase of the new data center has increased the raised floor capacity by 12,000 and includes 1.8 MW of additional power capacity, for a current total of 5 MW on the QTS campus. Additional build-outs will occur as new clients fill the space and utilize power.
Well-positioned on the West Coast and in the heart of Silicon Valley, QTS’ Santa Clara data centers have already attracted a major Pacific Rim customer among others. Individual client announcements will be made in the near future.
