Telemarketing Fraud/Harassment Alert Telephone Number: 206.451.5353

SEATTLE, WA – April 28, 2011 — 360networks, a facilities-based wholesale provider of telecommunications services, has received a large number of complaints concerning telemarketing harassment originating from telephone number 206.451.5353.  It is 360networks’ understanding that the bulk of the calls are from an alleged pharmaceutical company attempting to sell drugs over the phone.

360networks is a wholesale provider of Private Line Transport, Internet Protocol (IP) Transit, VoIP and Local Access services to other telecommunications companies and Internet service providers.  360networks does not provide retail telecommunications services to individual end users. 360networks has worked with its wholesale customer to disable all service to this number and place it in quarantine.

360networks believes this telephone number is being “spoofed,” meaning the telemarketer has altered the name and number appearing on your caller id.  If “206.451.5353” appears on your caller id, it is not the actual telephone number of the person calling you. Because of this spoofing neither 360networks nor its wholesale customer can identify the actual originating telephone number or block the calls.

We share your frustration with the situation and we take all complaints very seriously.  We encourage you to contact the Federal Communications Commission, your state utility regulation agency or local law enforcement agency if you wish to file a formal complaint against this telemarketer.

Thank you to all who brought this violation to our attention.  Please contact Penny Stanley at 303.854.5041 or penny.stanley@360.net if you have additional questions or concerns.
