Acquisition Expands FPL FiberNet’s Network Reach in Key Metropolitan Regions in Texas and Surrounding States

Leading Broadband Provider Continues Expansion

(MIAMI, FL) – February 28, 2011 – FPL FiberNet, a leading broadband provider, today announced that ithas acquired long‐haul network assets from Grande Communications Networks, LLC, a Texas basedcommunication company. Wholesale providers in the South Central United States will now have accessto FPL FiberNet’s high‐speed fiber‐optic telecommunication services.

The purchase of Grande’s carrier‐grade network assets will allow FPL FiberNet to expand its coverage byadding approximately 2,900 miles of long‐haul network connecting all major cities in Texas withadditional connectivity to Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. FPL FiberNet will also have a metropresence in Dallas, San Antonio, Laredo and Houston.

Building upon FPL FiberNet’s strengths, Grande’s state‐of‐the‐art technology and experienced,customer‐focused work force will enable the company to expand its offerings of highly reliable, awardwinningproducts and services.
