NTT America Empowers Enterprises with Hosted Cloud Offerings to Create a Personalized Virtual Data Center

Company to showcase available and scalable compute resources offering at the 2011 VMware Partner Exchange

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)– NTT America, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, and a global infrastructure services provider, today announced the integration of VMware’s vCloud Director virtualization software into NTT Communications’ enterprise cloud hosting offerings. NTT Communications is one of the first infrastructure hosting providers in the world to launch a hosted cloud solution based on VMware’s vCloud Director, enabling organizations of all sizes to capitalize on the advantages of utility-based cloud computing. NTT America engineers and product development personal will be on hand to showcase these technologies at the 2011 VMware Partner Exchange on February 7-10, 2011, at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

First announced at VMware’s VMworld in August 2010, NTT America’s engineering staff has developed and deployed both multi-tenant and private cloud infrastructure, which provides customers with available and scalable access to the underlying compute resources that make up a virtual data center. This new cloud solution provides organizations with greater flexibility to create and change their individual environment to suit their specific needs. Organizations only need to purchase the minimum amount of resources required to design their virtual data center including CPU, RAM, storage and network access. Customers can then manage the amount of resources they require in near real-time, further enabling them to customize an environment ideal for their operations, while only paying for the assets they contract. NTT America also provides customers the ability to access up to an extra 25 percent worth of resources to existing environments. A full commercial launch is expected in March.

“NTT America is proud to offer organizations the ability to deploy compute resources as part of a private cloud environment to support anywhere from a few virtual machines, to support tens, hundreds or thousands of virtual machines,” said Doug McMaster, NTT America’s vice president for product and solutions. “With utility-based pricing model, customers can contain costs while focusing on the operations essential to their primary business.”

While many hosting companies are bringing generic cloud computing products to market, NTT America raises the bar by not only allowing customers to fully customize their infrastructure resources, but also offering highly secure firewalls and multiple layers of physical and logical security including high availability SLAs with each virtual environment. Organizations are rapidly adopting this model for computing resources for public, private and eventually hybrid cloud environments.
