GENBAND Completes Transition of Nortel CVAS Business Process Platform in Less than 8 Months with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1

Application platform unifies finance, order management, supply chain systems, supporting GENBAND growth and acquisition strategy

Frisco, Texas, Jan. 25, 2011
– GENBAND, a leading developer of IP infrastructure and application solutions, today announced it has successfully unified its finance, order management and supply chain systems onto a single unified platform running the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1. Following the acquisition of the Nortel Carrier Voice and Applications Services (CVAS) division on May 28th, 2010, GENBAND selected the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 to support the integration of both businesses and to create a unified business process solution supporting its full back office suite.

“Oracle has played a great role in helping GENBAND strengthen its business process platform for the future,” said Brad Bush, Chief Information Officer of GENBAND. “We required an enhanced platform that would support our significantly increased scale and a pathway for rapid integration of the much larger, complex Nortel business. The Oracle E-Business 12.1 gave us the flexible business solution we needed while seamlessly transitioning and unifying hundreds of business process applications and systems.”

In addition to core order management, finance, purchasing and discrete manufacturing modules that GENBAND previously used for its existing business on Oracle Applications 11i, GENBAND has also implemented Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher for enterprise reporting, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management and Oracle Hyperion Planning for enterprise consolidations and budget planning respectively, and Oracle Global Trade Management to streamline trade compliant processes.

“GENBAND now has a combined full suite of operations support systems to manage the entire business process, from customer order all the way through cash application,” said Ognjen Pavlovic, Vice President, Oracle Product Strategy. “GENBAND is an early adopter of Oracle Global Trade Management, which will help them to complete all compliance documentation to support shipping to its large customer base in over 80 countries. Hyperion Financial Management will help allow GENBAND to quickly consolidate future acquisitions and report on a single set of operating books.”

The Oracle implementation was completed by Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Platinum level partner Nascent Systems and OPN Gold level partner IC Services using a combined team of implementation specialists. “GENBAND’s decision to build upon the Oracle platform as well as its continued commitment to best practices made such a rapid implementation plan possible,” said Stuart Massey, Partner, Nascent Systems.
